Orange County Public Schools
2020-2021 Magnet Summer Waitlist Application

Please read the following information before completing the magnet summer waitlist application..

Completing the magnet summer waitlist application in no way implies that every applicant will be offered a magnet seat for the 2020-2021 school year.

Parents of students entering grades K-10 in the coming school year may apply for OCPS magnets. Students must reside in Orange County, Florida, and be eligible to apply in order to begin the application process

The electronic application will be the only application accepted for the summer waitlist. Summer waitlist applications are placed after any existing waitlists generated by the second lottery in April.

All information on the application must be complete and correct. Incomplete applications cannot be processed.

The application must be submitted electronically before the deadline of midnight, August 1, 2020. Students must meet the eligibility requirements of the magnet for which they are applying. You may apply for one magnet program's summer waitlist. No duplicate applications will be allowed.

For middle and high school applicants who are not currently enrolled in an OCPS school, for example, your child is currently enrolled in a charter school, private school, or home school, please be ready to upload the student's most recent final report card. The application will not continue without uploading this document. Multiple pages or pictures should be scanned and saved in one document. Please note: only .pdf, .jpeg, .png, or .gif files may be uploaded.

Only one choice is allowed on the application, and only one application per student is permitted. Once submitted, the choice cannot be changed. Submitting an application does not guarantee a seat offer. All eligible applicants who meet the application deadline will be considered for available seats in the order applications are received.

After you have submitted the electronic magnet application, you will receive a confirmation page listing the magnet you selected. This confirmation page in no way implies that the application is complete and eligible for the magnet for which you have applied. All required documents must be submitted at the time of application. Please print the confirmation page and keep it for further reference.

If there is any incorrect information on the confirmation page, contact School Choice Services immediately via email at magnetoffice@ocps.net. Please include the student name and magnet for which you are applying in your email.

Eligible students who submit summer waitlist applications by the deadline of August 1, 2020, will be notified if a seat becomes available, via email sent to the parent email address listed on the application. This email is considered the official notice of a magnet program offer. Students who are offered a seat in a program must accept the seat within five (5) business days of notification. Failure to accept the seat will forfeit the offer. The seat offer notification will provide directions on how to register.

Transportation is not provided for elementary magnets nor high school magnets. In accordance with district transportation policy, transportation is provided to the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme at the middle schools, but transportation is not provided to the other middle school magnets. If a student is enrolled in a magnet at his or her zoned school, the student will be eligible for transportation according to district transportation policy.
